your Tuition Bill! Here
is just a reminder that one of our major goals is to increase

came up with this plan several years ago that can put money in your
pocket and increase enrollment at the same time. $250 will be deducted
from your tuition for any new family that you may get to enroll in
Poetry Night – We would like to say a big THANK YOU to Mrs.
Hallowes and Mrs. Forde for all the preparation and practice that was
put into last night’s poetry event.
The children were nervous but extremely confident due to their
teachers’ confidence and support. This is a night that students and
parents look forward to. It
also symbolizes for the fifth grade students that it is close to the end
of their elementary years as they prepare to move into the junior high.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the students for a job well done!
Tuition

the same company that currently does our tuition collection.

Notes
Graduation,
year end parties, dances offer important “Time to Talk” opportunities
Dear
Parents,
The
end of the year festivities have begun:
graduations, proms, parties, and dances seem never-ending.
This time of year offers many teens a taste of new freedoms and
increased opportunity and temptation to engage in risky behavior(s). “A
new study by Liberty Mutual surveyed over 2,500 11th and 12th grade students
from across the country. Findings
show that teens don't recognize the dangers of driving on prom and
graduation night, even though they recognize their peers may be more likely
to drink on these occasions. Nearly all of the students surveyed, 90
percent, reported that their peers are more likely to drink on prom night
and 79 percent reported the same for graduation night. Despite believing
that their peers are more likely to drink during prom and graduation, only
29 percent reported that they believe driving on prom night is dangerous,
while 25 percent said the same for graduation night.” (Time to Talk.org)
Time
to Talk.org
offers the following helpful tips and advice for parents and caregivers to
help keep celebrations safe and healthy:
·
“Know Your
Teens' Plans (and friends) and
make it clear you expect to be updated if the itinerary changes so you're
aware of their whereabouts.”
·
“Check In
With Them Via Text - they are more likely to reply, since it's discreet. You
can send messages like "Hope
·
“Trust Your
Teens and resist the urge to hover. If
you've filled them in on the rules and the risks - chances are they got the
message.” Remind them that they can always call you for help- no matter what the
scenario.
It is
important for parents to take the “time to talk”.
Age-appropriate conversations that begin in early childhood help to
lay the foundation for a lifetime of ongoing open effective communication
which helps to promote respect, health and wellness.
