Homeroom Parents

Assumption School

Homeroom Parents Program

What is a homeroom parent ? Homeroom Parents are parent volunteers helping other parents become acclimated to Assumption School.

How can they help? They can answer questions, give suggestions, communicate parent suggestions to the Home School Association and refer new parents to the appropriate party if necessary.

Who are the Homeroom Parents? Homeroom Parents are parents with experience at Assumption School with the Home-School connection, communications with teachers, extra-curricular and fund-raising activities.

When are they available? When a parent experiences a question regarding any aspect of the school, they can contact a Homeroom Parent.

Why do we need Homeroom Parents? The role of the Homeroom Parent has been created as another way Assumption School wants to reach out to its families.  Some families are transferring in from other schools, while others are starting school for the first time with pre - kindergarten or kindergarten students.  Both of these family situations require support to ensure that the school experience is positive for everyone.

Where do I go for support?    Do I need to come to the  school to get my questions answered? Your Homeroom Parent may be available via the telephone, email and/or in-person.

How can I become a Homeroom Parent? For more information, you can contact Marguerite Ouellette at  (860) 649-0889.  Miss Ouellette will bring this information to the Recruitment and Retention Committee.

Homeroom Parent Program This new outreach program is in addition to the personal contact parents have with the teachers and school administation.
